Refurbishment of Onshore and Offshore Structures
Refurbishment of Offshore structures
The works involved in refurbishment of offshore structure are rehabilitation of piles under water as well as in splash zone, beams and slabs of various structures such as cruise/ cargo terminal berth, tanker berths, jetty, harbours etc. Retrofitting with Micro concrete is the predominant method used for strengthening of piles, beams and columns. Gunniting is the method to rehabilitate slab and vertical areas of berth. The floor or walkways of terminals and berths are repaired using micro concrete screed. Steel structures are repaired by riveting and metalizing. We also undertake supply and fixing of fenders, bollards, mooring rings etc. Anti-Saline protective coating is provided in order to avoid further deterioration.
Refurbishment of Onshore structures.
Factory buildings, plants, refineries, furnace, bridges and buildings are various stream of refurbishment in onshore structures. Carbon fibre wrapping using carbon fibre reinforced polymer is a method of rehabilitation predominantly used to rehabilitate columns, bridge piers etc. The advantage of rehabilitation using afore said method is, we can retain the dimension of structure almost same as that of the dimension before rehabilitation. Honey combs/ voids inside the concrete structures are rectified using epoxy injection grouting. Encasement using micro concrete is the other method for rehabilitation. Steel bridges are rehabilitated using riveting and metalizing. For speedy or urgent completion of works gunniting / shotcreting is the method used. Anti-saline or water based protective coatings are provided depending on the milieu of the structure in order to avoid further deterioration.
